Well my new painting is of an Angel, I had loads of fun adding layer upon layer to the background and finishing off with gold leaf.
Sadly while painting this piece none of the Angelic goodness rubbed off on me, better luck next time I guess! 🙂

Kelly, I love this piece. It might be my fave of yours. Painting with gold is probably my favourite thing to do when creating – I think it’s the influence of Klimt on me or something but every time I paint with gold or come across a painting that uses gold I light right up! Beautiful work.

I love goldleaf! But don’t know how to use it!
Yeah it’s really fun to use, and is really easy as well, you just have to apply a layer of gold size(similar to a watery glue) to the area you want to add the gold leaf, leave for 15min or so and then apply your gold leaf and then Ta Da a gold covered painting!! 🙂
Oooh that sounds really easy! I have some sheets I got ages ago, I might try it on a small canvas and see what happens! 🙂
